Wow, that didn’t take long!

Although we weren’t trying per say, we got preggers on the honeymoon! Yay fertility! And to be honest, I was not super excited about it. I was only 20 years old, all of my friends were still in college, none were married or engaged, so I felt super young and thought I just wasn’t ready. Of course now, I know you are never really ready! Haha! Matt was so happy he cried. His excitement was contagious and eventually I got on board with everything, looking forward to this new crazy adventure of kids!

The day we found out we were pregnant, we went to daily Mass together, I was still harboring fear, doubt and a smidgen of anger. Because God works so lovingly in our lives, the first reading was like a love note to me-calming my fears and helping to transform my doubt into peace. I don’t remember the reading exactly, but all I remember was that the readings had to do with God calming fears and asking his people to trust him. That was our sign!  God was at it again, leading us in our journey ahead.

One Manx kitten named Ham, 2 hysterically-crying-for-no-apparent-reason sessions, and 3 months of unemployment and horrible morning sickness later, I started my second trimester, let morning sickness behind, and landed my dream job: a youth minister at my childhood parish!

Ya he was great until we had a baby... then became chopped liver.
